Evangeline’s story
Everyone has a story. For Evangeline, her story is one of a young person with a passion for serving others and a world in need.
By partnering with SU, she has been able to take her passion and become equipped to pursue the calling God has placed on her life. Your support is creating opportunities for young people like Evangeline to be trained, equipped and released to serve in local communities across our nation.
Serving on an SU beach mission is something that had been on Evangeline’s heart for many years. This year she attended her first beach mission at Balnarring, and it led to an encounter she will never forget.
“I want to live a life that’s fully lived for Jesus and in community with other believers, and being a leader on Beach Mission was a natural next-step.”
Together with her team, Evangeline helped run events and programs for local teens; while the evenings were spent sharing testimonies and life stories with young people in small groups.
“One teenager I spoke to shared with me that she didn’t feel like she belonged. She would often make negative comments about her appearance and self-worth. As team leaders, we prayed for her and worked with her to help her feel welcomed and included. It was amazing to witness the change in her as she started to see herself in a new light [as Jesus does].”
Through your support, young Christians like Evangeline are being trained, equipped and supported to speak into the stories of teens who are searching for hope, meaning and purpose and finding it through Jesus.
Everyone has a story. This summer, you can help invest in the stories of young people like Evangeline who have felt God’s call to meet young people where they’re at and show them God’s love, hope and good news. Together, we can help more young people discover life in 2023 and beyond.
